Thursday April 2 kind of sneakered up on me newsletterwise, so this is just a quick note to let you know that I’ll be playing two sets of The King Teen favorites at the wonderful Sidetrack Bar & Lounge in Chapel Hill. It’s at the end of Mt. Sinai Road at Highway 86. Or the beginning of Mt. Sinai Road, depending.
Remember how I said I’d lie in this newsletter sometimes? Well, that was a lie up there. The part about two sets of The King Teen favorites. I mean maybe the Rolling Stones have two hours of favorites. Maybe Taylor Swift. The King Teen’s got a couple, and then almost two hours of … well I think they’re pretty good!
That’s from the last time I played at Sidetrack, in February. I’m proud of that joke because it was off the top, I didn’t plan it.
But two hourlong sets, starting at 7 p.m., does give me a chance to play some songs I like but that rarely make it into my shorter sets, which is fun for me and might be fun for you. So come on out, enjoy some comfy seating, cozy decorations, friendly staff, good drinks, great sound system, the Hurricanes on the TVs, and two hours of The King Teen original songs and I think two covers.
And oh yeah: There’s no cover. And there’s a taco truck.
Thanks for reading and listening and coming on out.
Your friend,
The King Teen
