I’m on a new 5-song sampler from Aldora Britain Records, I Like Your Style. I do a medley of I Like Your Style by The Originals, Hey Girl (I Like Your Style) by The Temptations and I Love Your Smile by Shanice.

Wait. That’s me lying again. And it was a slightly better joke when I first thought of it because I remembered Shanice’s song as I Like Your Smile. It wasn’t funny then either, to be honest, but I do like that song. Hey Shanice: I love your song (doo-doot-do-do-doo-doodle-oo).

My song, the one on the sampler — remember the sampler? — is Time Traveler’s Blues, which you might remember from this video.

Aldora Britain Records is a UK outfit, as you might have guessed, run by a guy named Tom Hilton. The main event is a zine, and another thing you might remember is Tom interviewing me for that zine in April, which you can read in the popular PDF format here.

I Like Your Style is Aldora Britain Records’ 172nd(!) sampler EP, and you can pick it up at Bandcamp for the low low price of £0.50, which I think Brits refer to as 50 pence or 50p. That’s 66 cents U.S. at today’s exchange rate. We Yanks refer to that as 70 cents.

Tom says he’d just as soon charge nothing, also known as Name Your Price because you can always pay more than the list price, but it’s better to charge the minimum amount for algorithm reasons, since Bandcamp has various “Featured” feeds.

I always like it when I have new music out in the world, and I like it almost as much when I have existing music sent out into the world, which is why I like being on compilations and samplers. This is my third one, I think. The others are also available at Bandcamp:

On the left is Mountains to Sea Vol. 2, which features 70 North Carolina artists and benefits the Flat Iron nightclub in Greensboro. You can buy that here.

On the right is The Weapon and the Shield (Vol II), also a UK project — am I big in England? It features 19 artists and benefits “organisations that defend human rights and that align with the values of the contributors.” You can buy it here.

I’m on a mini-hiatus from shows while I whine incessantly about my sore elbow and try out my new career as a social media influencer. I’ll be back in action at the end of August.

Thanks for reading and listening and coming on out.

Your friend,

The King Teen
